A brief History
The National Farmers and Fishermen Week (PENAS) is a major gathering organized by the Mainstay Farmers and Fishermen Contact (KTNA). Initiated in 1971 and held every three years, PENAS has evolved into one of the most important events on the official government calendar. It is the primary platform where farmers, fishermen, forest farmers, researchers, extension workers, the private sector, and the government meet to exchange information and experiences, develop partnerships and networks, and promote results and innovation.
The main objective is to raise enthusiasm, responsibility and independence as the main actors in agricultural, fisheries and forestry development.
